12 die of Covid-19, symptoms in Barishal division in a day

Two people died of Covid-19 and 10 with Covid-like symptoms in the Barishal division in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

During this period, 385 people got tested, and 150 were found positive for the virus. The current positivity rate stands at 38.96 percent, our correspondent reports, quoting Shyamal Krishna Mandal, assistant director of Barisal Divisional Health Office.

Meanwhile, Dr Moniruzzaman Shaheen, in charge of Covid-19 isolation ward of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, said that 986 people died in the ward so far, of which only 266 were Covid-19 positive patients.

Thirty new patients were admitted in the Covid-19 isolation ward in 24 hours, said Moniruzzaman, adding that there are currently 300 patients undergoing treatment.
