The High Court yesterday ordered police to arrest Showeb Chowdhury Tapan, chairman of the governing body of Siddheswari Boys School and College in the capital, and produce him before it on February 12 for defying its summons.
During hearing a writ petition filed last year, the court had summoned Showeb at least twice to explain why the school authorities leased its playground to Toma Group, which is constructing Moghbazar flyover, to pile up construction materials on it. The court also asked the Toma Group managing director to appear before it on February 12.
