Germany, Mexico lineups confirmed

The following are the lineups for the first Group F match between four-time world champions Germany and Mexico, set to begin at 9:00pm Bangladesh time. 

Joachim Loew sets up the Germans in a 4-2-3-1 formation, handing debuts to Marvin Plattenhard and RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who will be charged with making sure that Germany leave the Luzhniki a few goals to the good.

Germany

Neuer; Kimmich, Hummels, Boateng, Plattenhardt; Khedira, Kroos; Muller, Ozil, Draxler; Werner.

Mexican coach Juan Carlos Osorio has meanwhile decided to give West Ham forward Javier Hernandez a start.  

Mexico

Ochoa; Salcedo, Ayala, Moreno, Gallardo; Herrera, Guadardo; Layun, Vela, Lozano; Hernandez.

Referee: Alireza Faghani (Iran)

With South Korea and Sweden making up the rest of Group F, this match can safely be said to be the marquee fixture of the group, and the winner will feel very comfortable about their chances of progressing.
