National Film Award-winning actor Zakia Bari Mamo has garnered her career with several accolades. She has been lucky in this respect. "Daruchini Dwip", a film based on Humayun Ahmed's novel of the same name and directed by Tauquir Ahmed, was the first movie she starred in. Her first film received immense praise.

Shortly afterwards, she got busy with working on television projects. She has acted in several television fictions over the years, which have earned her tremendous popularity.

Mamo's role in the film "Chhuye Dile Mon", directed by Shihab Shaheen, further helped her make a name for herself in the industry. With Arifin Shuvoo as her co-star, she delivered a crowd-pleasing performance in the movie.

Besides television projects and movies, Mamo has also acted in several web shows. She is known to be one of the busiest artistes, particularly during the Eid seasons. However, for this Eid-ul-Azha, she turned down all the offers to act in shows due to the rise in Covid-19 cases.

She is still on a hiatus. Even when shooting starts after the restrictions are lifted, she does not plan to make a return to acting so soon. Mamo shared that she is keeping herself busy with other things. "I have been reading a lot of books. I really like Shahaduz Zaman's books," said Mamo. "I have read a few books by him. I plan on discovering his writing more. I also want to read books by other authors."

As of now, Mamo has read Shahaduz Zaman's "Ekjon Komolalebu", "Kracher Kornel", "Golpo', Agolpo, Na-Golpo Sangraha", "Mamlar Shakkhi Moina Pakhi", Humayun Azad's "Shobkichu Bhenge Pore", and many other books. She is currently reading a book by a Japanese author.

Her latest web series, "Mohanagar", directed by Ashfaque Nipun, was well-received by viewers. "The plot and production of 'Mohanagar' were fantastic. Those of us who worked on the project gave it our all. I got to showcase my range as an artiste in this series, and I am glad that people welcomed my performance with open arms," said Mamo.

The television serial, "Shoth Maa", starring Mamo, is currently being aired. It is directed by Habib Shakil.

"My old shows have been airing on television. I have been so busy with reading that I did not get a chance to watch any of the new Eid-ul-Azha television shows yet. I hope to watch them soon," she added.
