‘James Bond could be a man or woman, of any race or age’: Lashana Lynch

Actress Lashana Lynch, who will be debuting as the first female 007 in the latest James Bond film "No Time To Die", has denied speculations that she will be playing the lead protagonist in the future installments of the movie.
In an interview with "The Guardian", the actress opened up about her character Nomi and how anyone can don the role of Bond.
"The next Bond can be anyone: a man or woman, a young or old person, from any race," the actress stated.
"At the end of the day, even if a two-year-old was playing Bond, everyone would flock to the cinema to see what this two-year-old's gonna do, no?" the Captain Marvel star added.
Rumours had been going around that Lynch's character, Nomi, an Mi6 agent is rumoured to take over Craig's tole after his departure.
While many have appreciated her casting. The actress has apparently received racist personal messages in Twitter and Instagram.
"I have received personal messages in my Insta and Twitter. If you are a Black person in entertainment or a Black person in sport, and you 'fail,' you are reminded that you cannot do both. You cannot be Black and entertain and fail. You have to be Black and entertain and win it for the country and win it for the world and win it for history," the actress responded.
The actress also talked about how Nomi acts as an equal to James Bond's character.
"The makers were looking for a character who is vocal and forthright and strong and able to handle a weapon. Then as the story progresses her character became this quite complicated, free, open-minded vocal human being who brings a really nice twist to MI6," Lynch added.
Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the film stars Lea Seydoux, Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, Ben Whishaw, Naomi Harris, Jeffery Wright, Christoph Waltz, and Ralph Fiennes in pivotal roles.
No Time To Die is scheduled to hit the UK theatres on September 30.
