Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last today at the age of 92. The Nightingale of India was born on September 28, 1929. She began her singing career when she was 13.
In 1942, the queen of melody recorded her first playback song for a Marathi film, "Kiti Hasaal". She also acted in a Marathi film, "Pahili Mangalagaur".
In 1946, she recorded her first Hindi film playback song for "Aap Ki Seva Mein", which was directed by Vasant Jogalekar.
