A man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his brother, at Pahartoli area this morning while voting was going in Chattogram City Corporation election with stray incidents of clashes.
The deceased was identified as Munna, 28.
Though locals said they were supporters of two rival groups, police said the killing was not part of polls related violence.
Faruk ul Alam, deputy commissioner of West Division of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said Munna was stabbed dead by his brother Karmul Islam near Baro Quarter area due to their longstanding personal dispute.
"It is not a polls related incident though many are saying so. We have investigated it," he said.
The incident happened at an alley which is away from any polling station, police said.
