Clash over murder case in Brahmanbaria: One killed, 18 injured
At least one person was killed and 18 others injured in a clash today over a murder case filed four years' back in Brahmanbaria's Kosba upazila.
The deceased was identified as Foyez Bhuiyan, 58, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting Nahid Hasan, additional superintendent of police of Kosba-Akhaura circle.
In 2017, a murder case was filed with Kosba police station against some people of 'Kabila Community' for killing Rois Miah, a man belonging to 'Pandu Community' in a clash between the two groups of Nimbari village of Mulgram union.
Recently, the accused got bail and have been threatening the people of Pandu community to withdraw the case.
Centring the threat, the people of two groups, equipped with sharp weapons, attacked each other after this morning, said police officer.
Foyez Bhuiyan died on the spot after being stabbed by a fishing pike while 18 others of both groups sustained injuries, he added.
Police officer Nahid said Foyez was the witness of the murder case.
Critically injured two -- Foyez Miah and Rimon --are undergoing treatment at Brahmanbaria General Hospital while the rest of the injured received primary treatment from Kosba upazila Health Complex, informed the policeman.
