“In line with the directives of the police headquarters, the case was shifted to the CID today to expedite its probe,” Mohammad Shah Abid Hossain, superintendent of police (SP) in Comilla, told The Daily Star.
“Our IGP is very concerned about the incident and he wants real facts behind the killing for the sake of justice,” the police official said.
A five-member investigation team led by Nazmul Karim Khan, special police supper of Comilla-Noakhali division, has been formed to investigate the incident, the SP said.
“CID is now well equipped with modern technologies. It can carry out investigation into any sensitive cases smoothly. That's why Tonu murder case was shifted to the CID,” he added.
