Weeklong regional SME fair begins in Tangail
A weeklong 'Regional SME Products Fair 2019' began in Tangail yesterday to promote local SME sector, enhance production of quality SME products, exhibition and introduction of SME goods for expanding business, trade and commerce.
At the fair, a spectrum of locally produced different SME goods including handicrafts, jute-made products, clothes, design and fashion wear and other products are being exhibited in around 55 stalls.
SME Foundation and Tangail District Administration jointly organised the fair at Shaheed Srity Pouro Udyan in the town in association with BSCIC, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, NASIB and Bangladesh Bank.
Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk, chairman of Tangail Zila Parishad, inaugurated the fair with Md Shahidul Islam, deputy commissioner in Tangail, in the chair.
Among others, Jamilur Rahman Khan Miron, mayor of Tangail; municipality, Md Ahaduzzaman, additional superintendent of police in Tangail, Sultana Yasmin, manager of SME Foundation, Senior Information Officer in Tangail Kazi Golam Ahad, and Shahnaz Begum, assistant director general (acting) of Tangail BSCIC Industrial Area, spoke at the programme.
The fair will continue till March 10, from 10:00am to 11:00pm ever day, the organisers said, adding that different events including boul song, lathi khela and magic show will also be held on the mukta mancha at the venue.
