Bangladeshi refused entry to India for prior visit to China

Indian immigration at Agartala checkpost allegedly refused entry to a Bangladeshi national this morning, owing to his travel to China around two months back.

The Bangladeshi businessman Shawkat Ahmed was going to India through Akhaura checkpost in Brahmanbaria, our correspondent reports quoting immigration officials.

Shawkat was refused entry by Indian immigration officials for his visit to China last November, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Morshedul Haque of Akhaura Immigration Police, quoting the businessman.

The Indian immigration officials asked him to come three months after his last visit to China, added Morshedul.

Shawkat is a businessman based in Chattogram who trades in motor parts.
