Govt official fined for taking narcotics

A mobile court here fined a land official and his cohort for taking hemp near Amjhol border area in Hatibandha upazila on Monday. 

Ershadul Habib Babu, assistant union land officer in Kaliganj upazila, was fined Tk 10,000 and his cohort Golam Robbani Tk 5,000, said Omar Farooque, officer-in-charge of Hatibandha Police Station.

Hatibandha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Aminul Islam led the court, said the OC. 

The land official and his cohort were caught red handed when they were taking hemp in the border area on Monday morning, said the police official.
