The government today appointed editor of the daily Samakal Golam Sarwar as chairman of the board of directors of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).
According to a gazette notification of the information ministry, the post fell vacant following the death of former chairman Habibur Rahman Milon.
Journalist Golam Sarwar was born on April 1 in 1943 at Banaripara of Barisal. He obtained his master’s degree in Bengali Literature with honours from the Dhaka University. He started his carrier as a journalist in 1963.
