Number of Covid-19 deaths reported below 100 today
Ninety-one people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily death toll due to Covid-19 dropped today after going over 100 over the last few days. Yesterday, 112 people died, which was the highest so far in a day while 102 died on Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, the number was 101.
The total number of deaths has now reached 10,588 and the death rate stands at 1.45 percent.
At least 4,559 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 7,27,780, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 16.85 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.94 percent.
A total of 27,056 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).
At least 6,811 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,28,111 and the recovery rate at 86.31 percent.
Among the 91 deceased, 58 were men and 33 were women. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old; seven were within 31-40 years old; 11 between 41-50; 18 within 51-60; and 54 were above 60 years old, added the release.
