DGDA issues NOC for importing Russia’s Sputnik vaccine for ROSATOM workers at Rooppur plant
The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) has issued a conditional No Objection Certificate (NOC) on importing Russia's Sputnik-V vaccine for Covid-19 to inoculate the citizens of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine who are working at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
The foreign nationals are employees of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM), which is carrying out the project work in Pabna.
According to the NOC issued today, 1,000 units of vaccine may be imported only for the ROSATOM employees who are citizens of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Each unit of the vaccine consists of two components.
In the case that the vaccine causes any side effect, DGDA will not take any responsibility in this regard. The authorities of ROSATOM will be responsible to this end.
The NOC, signed by DGDA Director General Maj Gen Mahbubur Rahman, will be valid for next six months.
