Covid-19: Deaths in a day cross the 100 mark for first time
One hundred and one people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The deaths due to Covid-19 in a day crossed the 100 mark for the first time.
The total number of deaths has now reached 10,182 and the death rate stands at 1.43 percent.
At least 4,417 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 7,11,779, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 23.36 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.86 percent.
A total of 18,906 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).
At least 5,694 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,02,908 and the recovery rate at 84.7 percent.
Among the 101 deceased, 67 were men and 34 were women. Of them, seven were within 31-40 years old; eight between 41-50; 23 within 51-60; and 63 were above 60 years old, added the release.
