Covid-19: 30 dead, 1,687 infected in 24 hours
Thirty people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this the total number of deaths reached 12,728 and death rate stands at 1.58 percent.
At least 1,687 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 8,05,980, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 9.94 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.43 percent.
A total of 16,972 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).
At least 1,970 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,44,065 and the recovery rate at 92.56 percent.
Among the 30 deceased, 21 were men and nine women. Of them four were between 31-40 years old, two within 41-50, six between 51-60 and 18 were above 60 years old, added the release.
