94 fined, 13 sent to jail for defying lockdown in Khulna
A total of 94 people were fined and 13 were imprisoned in the second day of weeklong lockdown in Khulna for defying the health guidelines.
Different mobile courts of Khulna city and upazilas conducted drives in the district between yesterday morning and evening and imposed the fines and sentences, reports our Khulna correspondent quoting Ariful Islam, executive magistrate of Khulna district administration.
A total of Tk 1,21,25 were released from 94 people and 13 people were sent to jail under the Infectious Diseases (Prevention, Control and Eradication) Act, 2018 and Penal Code, 1860 for violating health guidelines and lockdown rules, he said.
To curb spread of coronavirus infection, the Khulna district administration went on a lockdown from June 22 which till June 28.
The mobile courts were assisted by APBn, Ansar, RAB and police personnel.
