Covid-19 positivity rate under 10% after over a month
Eighty-eight people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this, the total number of deaths reached 11,393 and death rate stands at 1.51 percent.
At least 2,341 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 7,56,955, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 9.39 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.89 percent.
The positivity rate has come down below 10 percent after 40 days. On March 20, the positivity rate was 9.39 percent. It rose to the highest during the second wave to 23 percent on April 1. It continued rising and started sliding from April 17.
A total of 24,928 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).
At least 4,782 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,77,101 and the recovery rate at 89.45 percent.
Among the 88 deceased, one was between 11-20 years old, two within 21-30 years old, three between 31-40 years old, 15 within 41-50, 12 between 51-60 and 55 were above 60 years old, added the release.
