7-day lockdown in Kushtia municipality begins

Authorities have imposed a seven-day complete lockdown in Kushtia municipality area in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus infection.
Md Saidul Islam, Kushtia district commissioner issued a notice in this regard last night.
The lockdown will remain in effect till June 18, according to the notice.
People have been asked only to go out for emergencies while wearing masks properly, reports our local correspondent.
Shops, malls, restaurants and other business establishments will remain closed during the seven-day period while no public gathering will be allowed.
However, emergency supplies and daily necessities will remain available.
Industries and factories will remain open on the condition of maintaining health guidelines. The workers have to be transported by private vehicles.
