25 Covid-19 deaths, 363 new cases reported in 24 hours

Twenty-five people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8:00am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths from the virus has now reached 12,149 and the death rate stands at 1.56 percent.

At least 363 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 7,80,159, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 6.69 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.67 percent.

A total of 5,430 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 601 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,22,036 and the recovery rate at 92.55 percent.       

Among the 25 deceased, 18 were men and seven women while two were between 31-40 years old; four were between 41-50; six between 51-60; and 13 were above 60 years old, added the release.
