133 more Bangladeshis return from India through Gede-Darshana border
At least 133 more Bangladeshis, who were stuck in India, returned home through the Gede-Darshana border in Chuadanga today.
Of them, two tested positive for Covid-19.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chuadanga Monir Parveen, also the convener of the Covid-19 Control and Prevention Committee, confirmed the news to our Kushtia correspondent.
The 133 Bangladeshi came home between this morning and evening using the Darshana check-post, the ADC said.
With this, a total of 216 people returned to the country so far. Of them, five people tested positive for Covid-19.
On reaching the Darshana check-post at the border, health screening and Covid-19 sample collection of the returnees were conducted by a medical team from the Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex, said Monir Parveen.
Of the 133 returnees, two tested positive for Covid-19 after tests and were taken to the isolation unit, said the ADC.
The rest were sent to Chuadanga Technical Training Centre and Youth Development Centre for a 14-day mandatory quarantine, added ADC Monir Parveen.
Yesterday, a total of 72 Bangladeshis returned from India through the Gede-Darshana border.
