11 die in Khulna Medical College Hospital's Covid-19 unit in 24 hours
Eleven died while being treated at the Covid-19 unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital during 24 hours, till this morning.
Among them, eight were confirmed cases of Covid-19 while three were suffering from symptoms, reports our correspondent quoting Dr Suhash Ranjan Haldar, resident medical officer and spokesperson for the coronavirus unit of the hospital.
Currently, 155 patients are admitted at the unit, exceeding its capacity of 130 beds. Among them 41 were admitted during 24 hours till this morning, the RMO said.
During this time, a total of 171 out of 448 samples tested in KMCH PCR lab came positive for the disease, said Dr Mehedi Newaj, vice-principle of the medical college. Current positivity rate stands at 42.93 percent.
Of the 171 infected, 149 are from Khulna, eight from Bagerhat, two from Satkhira, five from Jashore, one from Narail, three from Gopalganj, one from Pirojpur, one from Magura and another is from Faridpur.
