10 die at RMCH Covid-19 unit in 24 hours; 59.18% admitted patients from Rajshahi
Ten people died at the Covid-19 unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in 24 hours till this morning.
Of the deceased, three were Covid-19 positive and the rest died with symptoms, RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani confirmed to The Daily Star.
Among the deceased, five were from Rajshahi and the rest are from Chapainawabganj, reports our Rajshahi staff correspondent.
During the 24 hours, 188 samples were tested at RMCH lab through RT-PCR and 50 of them came positive while 375 were tested at Rajshahi Medical College lab and 142 of them diagnosed with Covid-19.
The current positivity rate in Rajshahi is 30.05 percent.
A total of 365 patients were admitted to the Covid1-19 unit of the hospital. Of them, 216 are from Rajshahi, which is 59.18 percent of the total number of admitted patients.
Eighty-seven patients are from Chapainawabganj, 25 from Natore, 24 from Naogaon, six from Pabna, four from Kushtia and two are from Chuadanga. Details about another infected person could not be known immediately.
