Teacher suspended for 'improper behaviour' with students
The district administration has suspended a teacher of Narayanganj Girls School and College for “improper behaviour” with students.
Besides, it has issued a show cause notice to Principal Shital Chandra Dey on the charge of not giving admit cards to 40 class VIII students to sit for the first terminal exam as they did not pay “coaching fees”.
To protest the principal's action, the students and their guardians confined him to his room.
One and a half an hours later, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Sarwar Hossain
freed the principal. Later, the admit cards were given to the students, said the ADC.
English teacher Mohammad Arif has been suspended as they found the allegations, brought against him by the students and their guardians, of misbehaving with the students and assaulting female students true, he said.
The principal, however, said, “No money has been taken from the students for coaching. Five hundred taka has been taken monthly from the weak students each for special classes for them…”
