Additional Secretary Sajjadul Hassan, who was personal secretary-1 to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has been promoted to acting secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

He was appointed with immediate effect, according to a gazette notification issued yesterday.

Sajjadul Hassan replaced Suraiya Begum, senior secretary to PMO.

In another gazette notification, Tofazzel Hossain Miah, director general-1 of PMO, was made personal secretary-1 to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Besides, Md Raisul Alam Mondal, director of environment directorate (additional secretary), has been promoted to acting secretary of the fisheries and livestock ministry, while Additional Secretary of Local Government Division Saurav Nath Chakraborty has been promoted to acting secretary of the Statistics and Informatics Division.
