Transport owners vow to run buses in Dhaka defying Hefajat hartal

Transport owners today vowed to operate buses in the capital and adjacent areas defying the hartal called by Hefajat-e-Islam tomorrow.

They will operate buses on the inter-district routes subject to availability of passengers.

Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association (DRTOA) took the decision at an emergency meeting of the association with its General Secretary Khandaker Enayet Ullah in the chair.

The association later issued a press statement in this regard.

Leaders urged the police administration to take necessary security arrangement at important points of the city so that vehicle movement would not be halted amid the hartal.
