Sabrina Sobhan, wife of Bashundhara Group Managing director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, along with four members of their family and three domestic helpers, left the country through a chartered flight this evening.
The plane left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the evening for Dubai, a top official of Avitation Security (AVSEC) confirmed to The Daily Star.
They took off in a private jet aircraft at 8:56pm. The aircraft is operated by Sku Solution Limited, a company of Bashundhara Group, said the official of AVSEC.
Wishing anonymity, he also said eight members of Sayem Sobhan's family left the country legally and with valid documents.
But security and immigration officials were alert at that time so that Sayem himself could not leave the country.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman told The Daily Star that they received an application for a special flight but they were not authorised to give the passengers the clearance. He said the passengers got a Special Branch clearance and then the flight left.
He also said these people were seeking permission for the special flight from Tuesday.
