NSI impersonator arrested in Ctg

Police arrested a person for posing as an official of National Security Intelligence (NSI) from Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) yesterday morning.

The arrestee was identified as Abdul Mannan, 22, son of Rabiul Alam, hailing from Durgapur village in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni district, said police.

Assistant sub-nspector Alauddin Talukdar of CMCH police outpost said Mannan introduced himself as a junior field officer of NSI and he had an altercation with a police official while trying to enter the neurosurgery ward.

“We took him to our police camp and found that he was not an NSI officer after verification,” he said, adding that they handed him over to Panchlaish Police Station.

A case was filed with the police station, he added.
