Bangladeshi peacekeeper dies in Congo
Constable Ashraful Islam, a member of Bangladesh Police who had been working in the United Nation Peace Keeping Mission in Congo, died of a cardiac arrest on Tuesday at a hospital of Uganda. He was 37.
He left behind his mother, wife and a two-year-old daughter.
Joined at Bangladesh Police in 1999, Ashraful went to Congo on April 9 last year. He had been working at Rab Qeadquarters before going to the mission.
He hailed from Tikari village of Jhenidah, said a press release.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque mourned his death.
