70 maunds of jatka seized in Bhola

Coastguards seized around 70 maunds of jatka (young hilsa less than nine inches in length) in Bhola yesterday.

On information that a huge amount of jatka was being sent to Barishal on a trawler, a team of coastguards conducted a drive in Velumia area of Sadar upazila and made the seizure.

Those who were carrying the jatka fled the scene sensing their presence, said Lt Commander (south zone) Nuruzzaman Sheikh.
