4cr metres of gill net seized in Munshiganj

Coast guard members seized four crore metres of gill net and held three people in the Meghna river near Ismanirchar area in Munshiganj yesterday morning.

They detainees -- Shah Alom Bepari, Shukur Khan and Shah Alom of Barisal -- were also fined Tk 1,000 each, coast guard officials said.

Later, coast guard burnt the gill net on the bank of the river.
