The newly appointed Director General of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Maj Gen Abul Hossain started office today.

The government appointed Abul Hossain as the DG of BGB replacing Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed, according to a gazette notification issued by the Public Administration Ministry on November 2.

Officials and employees gave the new BGB chief Hossain a warm welcome at Pilkhana, Dhaka, reads a press release.

Born in 15 March, 1962, Abul Hossain was working as military secretary to President Abdul Hamid before his new appointment.

The outgoing BGB chief Maj Gen Ahmed will return to Bangladesh Army.

Maj Gen Hossain, ndc, psc, joined Bangladesh Military Academy on February 1980 and was commissioned on December 1981 in the corps of Engineers of Bangladesh Army.
