Four killed in Rajshahi accidents
Four people including a policeman were killed and six others injured in four separate road accidents in Rajshahi yesterday.
In Mohonpur upazila, a police constable of Special Branch in Rajshahi was killed and his co-rider injured as a bus rammed the motorcycle they were riding on.
The deceased is Selim Reza, 53. The injured is DSB Sub Inspector Abdul Quayuum, 45.
In Rajshahi city, a woman was killed and five others injured as a bus rammed a battery-run three-wheeler and two motorcycles in Railway Station area.
The deceased -- Rubina Khatun, 35, of Mundumala in Tanore upazila -- died on the spot.
The injured are Rubina's husband Minarul Islam, their eight-year-old daughter Fatima Khatun, Rubina's cousin Sanzida Khatun, 9, and two motorcyclists Ahsan Habib, 40, and Ziarul Islam, 35.
In Godagari upazila, a truck helper was killed when a truck ran him over at Dayingpara intersection on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi road.
The deceased is Zahid Hassan, 18, of Chapainawabganj.
In another accident in Godagari area, a man was found lying on a road in a pool of blood in Ujanpara area.
Police said the man -- Akhtar Ali, 75, of the area -- might have been killed in a road accident.
