Chaina Patowary gets bail

A female Chhatra Union leader of Chittagong University got bail yesterday in a case filed under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

A Rangamti court passed the order considering her age as she is below 18, said her lawyer Advocate Dulal Kanti Sarkar. The court also fixed June 20 for next hearing, he added.

On June 2, Chaina Patowary, a first-year student of music and cultural secretary of arts faculty committee of CU unit Chhatra Union, was shown arrested after Ehsan Uddin, a local Chhatra League man, filed the case over allegation of defaming Islam through a Facebook post.
