Avijit murder: Court extends probe deadline again

Probe report on the case filed over murder of writer and blogger Avijit Roy back in February 2015 has been deferred yet once again.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansary allowed Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit until March 25 to file the report.

Up until the latest development today, the court had earlier fixed 41 dates for submission of the report, but the investigating officer failed to comply.

Avijit’s father Ajay Roy filed the murder case against unidentified assailants with Shahbagh Police Station.

Police have so far arrested ten suspects for their alleged involvement in the crime.

Of them, only Julhaj Biswas is out on bail while the others are now in jail.
