Anwara Khatun's anniversary of death today

Today is the 29th death anniversary of Begum Anwara Khatun, a member of erstwhile Bengal Legislature Assembly.

She died in 1988 due to a prolonged illness, says a press release.

Anwara was one of the few Bengali Muslim women who had obtained MA, BT, LLB in British India.

A close associate of Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy, Moulana Bhashani and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, she was actively involved in the Language Movement of 1952.
