11 cops get new postings

In a reshuffle in the police administration, the government yesterday transferred 11 senior officials to new postings.

According to a home ministry circular issued yesterday, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Atiqul Islam of Police Headquarters replaced DIG Mallick Fakhrul Islam of highway police, who was shifted to DIG of Special Branch (SB) of police.

Additional Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was transferred to Barisal Range as DIG.

Additional commissioners Mainul Hasan of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) and Saidur Rahman of Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) were posted as Additional DIG of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

PIB's Additional DIGs Abul Kalam Azad and Mahbub Alam were made Additional Commissioner of BMP and Commandant (additional DIG) of Police Training Center in Rangpur respectively.

Sheikh Omar Faroque, PTC commandant in Rangpur, replaced PTC Commandant in Khulna Bakhtiar Alam, as the latter was transferred to Rajshahi as Additional DIG in Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) in Sardah.

Additional DIG AFM Masum Rabbani of Criminal Investigation Department was transferred to Police Headquarters as Additional DIG, while Additional DIG Jahirul Islam Bhuiyan was transferred to CID.

Additional DIG Mohammad Fazlur Rahman of BPA in Sardah was made Additional DIG of tourist police in Dhaka.
