National Robotics and Technology Festival “Robolution 1.0” begins tomorrow at CUET

The National Robotics and Technology Festival "MIE ROBOLUTION 1.0" is set to begin Thursday at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).

Organised for the first time by the Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering, this festival aims to bring together innovation, technology, and engineering under one platform.

Spanning over three days, the event will see participation from more than 700 students representing over 41 universities and colleges from across the country.

The festival will feature various competitions and seminars focused on technology, innovation, mechatronics, robotics, software, and design.

A key highlight of 'MIE ROBOLUTION 1.0' is the "Techathon"—the country's first-ever hackathon integrating both hardware and software in a live setting.

Other events include a CAD competition, Robo Soccer, Line Following Robots, Project Showcase, and a Chess Tournament.

The first day of the festival will feature a colorful rally, an industrial conference, and a FIFA gaming event, among others.

On Friday, the second day, the Line Following Robot, Soccer Bot, and Techathon competitions will be held.

The final day, Saturday, will include project presentations, the CAD competition, and the chess tournament. The festival will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony and a cultural program.

Speaking about the festival, Dr. Prosenjit Das, Head of the Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering, said, "The main goal of this initiative is to inspire the youth of Bangladesh to take an interest in technology and robotics. It aims to enhance their innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, while also providing a standard national-level competition environment. This is not just an event but a platform of inspiration for tech-enthusiastic youth."

He added that the presence of top researchers and technology experts in the festival would enrich the students' knowledge and motivation. Additionally, a number of renowned industrial organizations will also take part. Seminars will be held featuring these experts, with the goal of establishing collaborative relationships between the industry and the department.
