BTRC

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has selected a firm to audit Banglalink, the third-largest mobile phone operator by subscriber base in the country.

Masih Muhith Haque & Co has been selected to conduct the audit at a cost of Tk 8.75 crore.

The agreement is likely to be signed at the BTRC office today, according to BTRC officials.

BTRC Vice Chairman Subrata Roy Maitra said auditor farm will audit to find out of whether the operator has complied with the directives of the commissions or evaded any government revenue.

According to the Telecommunications Act, there is a provision to audit whether operators are following the instructions of the commission properly.

In light of this, the audits of Grameenphone and Robi have already been completed.

Similarly, the commission also decided to audit Airtel.
