Shah Cement, the leading cement brand in Bangladesh, has achieved the 'Best Brand Award 2016' in the cement category.
Shah Cement's Brand Director Naushad Chowdhury and Brand Manager Ibrahim Khalil received the prestigious award at a ceremony at Le Méridien hotel in Dhaka on Saturday.
Khurshid Irfan Chowdhury, deputy managing director of Transcom Beverages, handed over the award.
The cement maker was honoured by Bangladesh Brand Forum along with brands in 22 fast moving consumer goods categories and 11 non-FMCG categories.
Shah Cement, a unit of Abul Khair Group, one of the largest business conglomerates in Bangladesh, is the leading cement producer in the country with a capacity of producing 5.2 million tonnes of cement per annum.
Located in Munshiganj, the plant uses modern technology and produces quality cement fit for sustainable and durable construction, according to the website of Shah Cement. The company also won the Best Brand Awards in 2010.
Bangladesh Brand Forum handed the award in partnership with brand research company Kantar Millward Brown Bangladesh and in association with The Daily Star.
