Functional food Karkuma enters USA market

Organic Nutrition Limited announced its entry into the global functional food market with its products now available in the United States.

They are also set for further expansion into Europe and the UAE, says a press release.

The Director of Organic Nutrition Limited said, "Traditionally, Bangladesh imports premium health foods from developed nations. Today, we are reversing this trend by exporting world-class, locally produced functional foods to global markets. This is not just a business success but a matter of national pride. We believe this sector will play a significant role in the country's export earnings."

In March 2024, American company Teal Gaia conducted on-site inspection of Organic Nutrition Limited's research and production facilities. Following their satisfaction with the quality and efficacy of the products, Teal Gaia placed a substantial order for four flagship functional foods: Joint Guard, Immune Plus, Cycle Comfort, and Turmeric Booster. The products have already been delivered and launched in the USA market in November 2024.

Highlighting safety and quality, these products have received approval for efficacy and safety from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). They are now available in leading American supermarkets and on Amazon USA. ONL's functional foods are also accessible in local supermarkets, model pharmacies, and online marketplaces such as Daraz, Rokomari, and Aroggo etc.

Speaking at a press event, representatives of ONL emphasized the company's dedication to improve health through scientifically formulated functional foods. These foods are not medicines or supplements but are safe for daily consumption, offering essential health benefits like enhancing bone joint mobility, promoting immunity, heart health, digestive wellness, and chronic disease prevention.

The company's journey began in 2016, with research led by a team of experienced scientists, nutritionists, and food technologists. Collaborating with esteemed institutions such as the University of Dhaka, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University and BIRDEM, Organic Nutrition Limited introduced functional foods to the Bangladeshi market in 2020. Since then, the company has gained the trust of consumers, reaching 1.23 million customers to date, with 67% repeat purchases.

Organic Nutrition Limited holds USDA Organic Certification and is a member of IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements). Its production facility complies with CODEX GMP and ISO 22000:2018 standards, ensuring that its products meet global benchmarks for quality and safety.
