Geocycle to dispose of Sylhet city waste

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh's waste management wing Geocycle and Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday for the former to dispose of the city's waste on a trial basis.
Mayor Ariful Haque Choudhury and Asif Bhuiyan, chief corporate affairs officer of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, inked the deal in a Sylhet hotel, said a press release.
"…Geocycle will train our people and manage the solid waste. We are looking forward to an extended service from Geocycle after the trial period," said the mayor.
"Geocycle's main purpose is to rethink waste challenges and provide innovative ways to manage it," Bhuiyan said.
Kaushik Mukherjee, head of Geocycle, Bidhayak Roy Chowdhury, chief executive officer (additional secretary) of the SCC, and Nur Azizur Rahman, chief engineer, were present.
