Stocks gain for second day   

Stocks gained for the second consecutive session today, as positive investor activity drove turnover higher.  

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 6.27 points, or 0.13 percent, to close at 4,801.32.

The Shariah-compliant DSES index increased 0.28 percent to 1,050.24, while the DS30, which represents blue-chip stocks, jumped 0.08 percent to 1,781.66.

Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, rose 9 percent to Tk 326.29 crore  

Of the issues traded, 227 advanced, 105 declined, and 67 remained unchanged.

National Tea Company posted the highest gain, rising 9 percent, while Zeal Bangla Sugar Mills registered the biggest loss, dropping 5 percent.
