Stocks gain in morning trade

The Dhaka Stock Exchange indices rose in early trading today, extending their gains for the third consecutive day.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 12.40 points, or 0.25 percent, to reach 4,933.96 as of 11:28 am.

The Shariah-compliant DSES index rose 0.41 percent to 1,080.34, while the DS30, which tracks blue-chip stocks, increased by 0.04 percent to 1,816.29.

Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, stood at Tk 111.47 crore during the session.

Of the 395 issues traded, 174 advanced, 131 declined, and 78 remained unchanged.

Shares of National Feed Mill er posted the highest gain, rising more than 7 percent, while MIDAS Financing suffered the biggest loss, falling 8 percent.
