Stocks fall in early trade

The Dhaka Stock Exchange indices dropped points in morning trade today for the second consecutive session.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, lost 83.68 points, or 1.68 percent, to stand at 4,868.04 as of 11:20 am.
The Shariah-based DSES index declined 2.28 percent to 1,065.05, while the DS30, comprising blue-chip stocks, lost 1.13 percent to 1,813.03.
Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, stood at Tk 215.77 crore during the session.
Of the 395 issues traded, 11 advanced, 365 declined, and 13 remained unchanged.
Shares of Baraka Patenga Power increased the highest, rising more than 9 percent, while Yeakin Polymer suffered the highest fall, dropping 9 percent.
