New CEO for Mercantile Bank

Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury has recently been appointed as the new managing director and chief executive officer of Mercan-tile Bank.

Prior to the appointment, Chowdhury was the additional managing director and chief business officer of the bank, Mercantile Bank said in a statement yesterday.

He started his banking career as a probationary officer in National Bank in 1983.

Chowdhury also worked at NCC Bank prior to joining Mercantile Bank.

He completed his honours and master's in marketing from Dhaka University.
