Made-in-Bangladesh Covid-19 vaccine by next year: Salman F Rahman
The country will get Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by Bangladesh by next year as the local pharmaceutical companies are getting prepared, said Salman F Rahman, adviser on private industry and investment to the prime minister.
"Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd will complete building a dedicated facility for the Covid-19 vaccine within the next six weeks as well as Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited signed a deal with a Chinese company to manufacture the vaccine," he said while addressing a press meet at the conference room of Dhaka Reporters' Unity today.
He said Beximco is corresponding with some entities, including Serum Institute of India, Pfizer and Moderna, to manufacture the Covid-19 vaccine in Bangladesh.
It is needed to manufacture the vaccine locally as there is a possibility for the coronavirus pandemic to continue in the world, he said.
