Dhaka stocks extend winning run for third day

Indices at the Dhaka Stock Exchange opened higher in early trading today, extending their winning streak to three consecutive sessions.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 34.97 points, or 0.64 percent, reaching 5,490.37 by 11:28 am.
The Shariah-based DSES increased 0.97 percent to 1,201.13, while the blue-chip DS30 index rose 0.45 percent to 2,138.36.
Turnover, a key indicator of investor participation, stood at Tk 501.32 crore during the session.
Market breadth was positive, with 201 issues advancing, 115 declining, and 76 remaining unchanged.
Among individual scrips, Energypac Power Generation topped the gainers' list, soaring 10 percent, while FAS Finance & Investment was the biggest loser, shedding 10 percent.
