Stocks snap three-day losing streak
Stock markets in Bangladesh edged up today breaking three sessions' losing streak.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), inched up 3 points, or 0.05 per cent, to 6,353.
The DS30, the blue-chip index, increased 0.21 per cent to 2,235 while the DSES, the shariah-based index, fell 0.08 per cent to 1,385.
Of the securities, 36 advanced, 80 declined, and 227 did not see any movement.
Turnover, one of the important indicators of the market, fell 21 per cent to Tk 797 crore.
Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa topped the gainers' list, advancing around 9.9 per cent. Chartered Life Insurance, Summit Alliance Port, Sinobangla Industries, and Orion Infusion also gained more than 7 per cent.
aamra technologies suffered the sharpest fall, giving up 7.6 per cent. Samorita Hospital, Coppertech Industries, IT Consultants, and BD Thai Food & Beverage were also among the major losers.
The Caspi, the all-share price index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange, rose 19 points, or 0.10 per cent, to close at 18,763.
Of the issues on the port city bourse, 29 advanced, 46 declined, and 104 remained the same.
